Local Spotlight: Loggerhead Marinelife Center

In our opinion, any organization focused on rehabilitating sick and injured animals is a worthwhile organization. By that measure, Loggerhead Marinelife Center – whose team treats close to 100 sea turtles and 1,000 hatchlings per year – is an exceptionally worthwhile organization. Their Noble Work                               

They’re able to carry out their mission in their state-of-the-art Gordon and Patricia Gray Veterinary Hospital, where they have all of the facilities that they need to rescue sea turtles and hatchlings that are having a tough go of it, including a treatment room, a veterinary pharmacy, a digital x-ray room, a surgical suite, and (for those unfortunate circumstances) a necropsy room. Sometimes, the treatments, surgeries, and necropsies are open to public viewing, so you can watch their teams as they do their passionate work.

As soon as one of their sea turtles is medically cleared, they release them back into the wild immediately. On their Instagram, you can see some pictures of their patients back home in their natural environments.
