2020 Honda HR-V Model Review in Greenacres, FL

May 12th, 2020 by

The 2020 Honda HR-V is one of those subcompacts that makes a name for itself. With an incredibly spacious interior, the HR-V is exciting to drive and provides the safety and stability often associated with the Honda name. Compared to others in its class, the HR-V stands out as one of the safest and most reliable. Honda is known for its consistency and quality of the product, and the HR-V is no exception. Fuel efficiency is also the name of the game, so if you’re looking for a model that is safe, secure, and socially conscious, the 2020 HR-V is perfect for you.

Trims and Appearance

The HR-V is outwardly a very smooth and sleek vehicle, with very little visual changes between trims. Most of Honda’s adjustments for this year’s model release are cosmetic or mechanical, so it has an easily recognizable silhouette that is just slightly improved upon. The HR-V comes in five total trims, including:

  • LX
  • Sport
  • EX
  • EX-L
  • Touring

Depending on your needs, you may decide to go for a more expensive trim due to its perks. Higher up the ladder, with trims like the EX, you’ll receive more driver assistance safety features, which can really be helpful for families and cautious drivers alike.

Engine Specifics

The HR-V comes with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) which gives the vehicle plenty of push, but not much energy. For those who are concerned about reliability, the CVT makes it easy to feel comfortable behind the wheel, as the HR-V won’t speed out of control. With a four-cylinder engine, you’ll be getting just enough power to make it through long highway trips and daily commutes. Where the HR-V shines, though, is its fuel economy. With 28 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, it soars ahead of other subcompact models who have fuel ratings similar to larger SUVs.

Infotainment and Driver Safety

In models above the basic LX, you’ll be enjoying a 7.0 touchscreen Display Audio infotainment system, which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While the LX doesn’t come with a display, its base price makes up for the lack of features. However, the HR-V paves the way for safety, as the NHTSA has given it a five-star safety rating. The IIHS has also named it a Top Safety Pick. Some of its most impressive safety features include automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
