I've driven both, and while the Corolla is a fine car, to me it feels a step below the Civic in terms of interior design and materials. I didn't like the dash protrusion, as I would bash my knee of it every time I get in and out of it. The Corolla hybrid (afaik with the 1.8 hybrid drivetrain) is also significantly down on power compared to the Civic hybrid. I'd personally be willing to trade a few more MPGs for more interior space, an option for a hybrid trim hatch, and better materials. The Corolla is a fine car at EOD, but I personally prefer the Civic."
