2018 Honda CR-V Review
The Honda CR-V is in its second year of the current design cycle, and last year’s redesign was nothing short of astounding in the level of changes brought to the table. That means drivers across Wellington, Greenacres, and Palm Beach are also curious as to whether there are more great upgrades this year.
While this year’s CR-V is the same as last year’s, that means you’re still getting one of the best SUVs on the market today. Explore the full range of features, options, and performance statistics you’ll get when you get behind the wheel of the 2018 Honda CR-V.
2018 Honda CR-V
This design cycle marks the fifth generation of Honda’s versatile crossover SUV. The 2018 Honda CR-V is marked by a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder that delivers 190 horses and 179 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available at all but the base level, which has a 2.4-liter engine putting out 184 horses and 180 lb-ft of torque. Among the more attractive features is EPA-estimated 26 city MPG and an EPA-estimated 32 highway MPG.¹
It delivers an outstanding ride experience due to the suspension, longer wheelbase, wider tracks, and additional ground clearance. Inside, you’ll find a modern dashboard with digital instruments and an upgraded touchscreen that brings back a knob for volume and 75.8 cubic feet of cargo space. All in all, it’s a highly competitive and adaptable SUV.
2018 CR-V Trim Levels and Options
The 2018 Honda CR-V is available in four trim levels: the base LX, the mid-range EX and EX-L, and the top-of-the-line Touring. With the LX, you get a solid range of entry-level equipment, including LED running lights, cruise control, automatic climate control, a 5-inch color display screen, and an audio system with four speakers, USB, and Bluetooth.
Stepping up just one level gives you the more powerful engine and a range of welcome additional features, including keyless start and keyless entry, fog lights, remote start, heated mirrors, an upgraded driver info display, a power driver seat and heated seats in front, and an upgraded full infotainment system, including a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android phone integration, an upgraded rearview camera, satellite radio, and second-row USB ports for device charging.
You also open the door to a range of safety features, including blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warning and keeping, front crash warning, emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. Stepping up higher nets you even more features, from driver memory settings and power liftgate to LED headlights, ambient lighting, GPS navigation, and more.
Honda CR-V Driving and Utility
The Honda CR-V offers tons of space for small-item storage and 39.2 cubic feet of storage with the seats up (75.8 cubic feet with the seats down). The 1,500-lb capacity for towing is another outstanding feature. Add to this the supremely comfortable drive with well-controlled body roll and a serene cabin, and you’ve got nothing short of one of the most refined crossovers on the market today.
