2019 Honda CR-V Review
Many drivers in the Wellington, Boynton Beach, Palm Beach, and Lake Worth areas like compact SUVs because they’re easy to handle and have generous space for cargo and passengers. You’ll notice the Honda CR-V ranks high on the best-seller list of compact SUVs. The 2019 model should continue that trend, as it still maintains most features from last year’s model and delivers a similar performance. Read our 2019 Honda CR-V review to decide if it appeals to you.
2019 Honda CR-V Performance
The base LX trim comes with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower. The EX and higher trims offer a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower for faster acceleration. With the turbocharged engine, the CR-V can go from 0 to 60 MPH in 7.5 seconds. Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive an available option.
The Honda CR-V continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) ensures easier shifts between gears. The SUV performs admirably on city streets and highways, and you’ll notice minimal noise inside the cabin. The suspension system absorbs most speed bumps to enable a comfortable ride. With the CR-V’s precise steering, you can control the car around tight corners and feel little body roll.
Interior and Cargo Space
The Honda CR-V can seat a maximum of five people. While cloth upholstery is standard, you can upgrade to the more elegant leather-trimmed upholstery. A leather-wrapped steering wheel also adds class to the interior.
Both rows of seats offer ample room. Even backseat passengers have plenty of legroom, which helps on long car rides. On hot days, backseat passengers benefit from having their own air vents.
The CR-V cargo space tops many of its rivals. You’ll receive 39.2 cubic feet of space behind the second row. With both rows folded down, you’ll get a maximum capacity of 75.8 cubic feet, which works well with camping gear or large work equipment.
Technology and Safety Features
The Honda CR-V provides numerous technology features to keep you entertained during the car ride. The base LX trim comes standard with a 5-inch display screen, Bluetooth®, and two USB ports. However, the other trims have a standard infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration, satellite radio, and dual-zone automatic climate control. When your mobile device is plugged in, you can use Siri® or Google Voice to manage the infotainment system and keep your eyes on the road.
Honda delivers many stellar safety features to keep you safe on the road. Check out the EX and higher trims with standard features that include Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
