2016 Honda Odyssey Review
Power and Stability
The 2016 Honda Odyssey is powered by a 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V6 aluminum alloy engine that produces 248 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine features several systems to not only improve the performance but also increase fuel economy. The vehicle is equipped with multi-point fuel injection, the Drive-By-Wire Throttle System, the Eco Assist system, Variable Cylinder Management, and an Active Control Engine Mount System.
To give the vehicle its smooth, quiet ride, the 2016 Odyssey is equipped with Active Noise Cancellation, MacPherson strut front suspension, multi-link double wishbone rear suspension, and electric power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. The vehicle comes standard with 17-inch wheels with covers and all-season tires but also offers 18-inch alloy wheels for you to choose from.
The 2016 Odyssey is nothing if not convenient with its many standard and available features. The vehicle is available with several advanced technology features that will make your life so much easier, including Honda LaneWatch and the Blind Spot Information System. These will help you to be better acquainted with your surroundings while you’re driving.
Other convenience features of the Odyssey include programmable power door and tailgate locks, push-button start, the HomeLink remote system, and a HondaVAC.
Active and Passive Safety
The 2016 Honda Odyssey offers two types of safety features. The traditional safety features you’re used to are called passive. These work to keep you and your passengers safe in the event of a collision. The passive safety features in the Odyssey include the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, SmartVent front side airbags, and a driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt reminder.
Active safety features work full-time to prevent a collision from occurring. The active safety features include all of the advanced features you’ve been hearing about more and more. The 2016 Odyssey comes standard with Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, an anti-lock braking system, Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a rearview camera with guidelines.
