Honda Pilot vs. Nissan Pathfinder
The 2016 Honda Pilot and the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder are popular options for people looking for a vehicle with lots of power and plenty of room for the whole family. Given that they’re both from great companies with reputations for high quality, choosing between them can be a bit of a challenge.
To help you, Braman Honda of Palm Beach has put together a vehicle comparison just for you. Let’s take a closer look.
Power and Capability
An aluminum-alloy 24-valve V6 SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque powers the 2016 Honda Pilot. The vehicle also offers a full suite of technologies perfect for everything from a long road trip or an off-roading weekend.
It comes standard with direct fuel injection, a Drive-By-Wire throttle system, an Eco Assist system, Variable Cylinder Management, an Active Control Engine Mount System, Active Noise Cancellation, Hill Start Assist, and an Intelligent Variable Torque Management all-wheel drive system. And depending on whether you choose two- or four-wheel drive, the Pilot has Intelligent Traction Management with Snow and Snow/Sand/Mud options.
On the other hand, the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder’s 24-valve V6 DOHC engine only produces 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. So not only does it offer less power than the Pilot, but the power also isn’t as readily available.
In addition, the Pathfinder, while offering an all-mode 4×4 intuitive four-wheel drive system, doesn’t seem to have the suspension required for a truly nice ride. On the other hand, off-roading and driving in extreme weather conditions with the Honda Pilot is a breeze.
Many of the differences between these two vehicles are easy to detect, while others seem a bit more elusive. One of the major points of comparison is between the brands and their reputations.
Honda vehicles are known for being high-quality vehicles with loads of high-end features. A Honda vehicle can be expected to last for as long as you decide to keep it. As an innovator in the industry and a well-known brand, Honda has quite a bit to offer today’s buyer.
On the other hand, Nissan vehicles are better known for being notably affordable and sometimes have lower quality products because of it. Nissan is known for their sporty and performance vehicles and not necessarily for their rugged off-roading performance. The Pathfinder definitely reflects this deficiency.
