Honda Civic Coupe vs. KIA Forte Koup
The Honda Civic Coupe and the Kia Forte Koup are popular vehicles for similar reasons: Both offer an affordable starting price, excellent fuel economy, and a small physical footprint. So how do you decide between these two excellent options when trying to select your next new vehicle?
Your friends at Braman Honda of Palm Beach have put together this vehicle comparison to assist you in your decision making. Check it out then schedule a test drive at your local Honda dealer near Boca Raton, Greenacres, and West Palm Beach.
An inline four-cylinder aluminum-alloy 16-valve SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 143 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque powers the 2015 Honda Civic Coupe. It features a Drive-by-Wire throttle system, multi-point fuel injection, front-wheel drive, and an Eco Assist system and can be paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission with available dual-model paddle shifters. The Civic Coupe also is equipped with MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension.
When driving the Kia Forte Koup, it’s immediately apparent that the vehicle is in the affordable class because the drive just isn’t as nice as in the Civic Coupe. The Forte Koup’s ride quality is disappointing at best, but pair that with its boring handling, and you get quite a bit of feedback from the road in the steering. The Honda Civic Coupe, however, offers a smooth and comfortable ride even on rough roads.
Honda vehicles are known for their advanced technology features crossing all categories, and the 2015 Honda Civic Coupe is no exception to this. This vehicle comes standard with Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, an anti-lock braking system, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, a rearview camera with guidelines, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The Kia Forte Koup also has quite a bit to offer as far as safety features. But while the Honda Civic Coupe was an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety 2015 Top Safety Pick, the organization doesn’t have ratings for the Forte Koup, only the Forte four-door model. And that received a rating of marginal for the small overlap front test.
Considering the Forte Koup is smaller than the Forte and older, it’s likely that it would receive even lower ratings if tested.
