Are you interested in purchasing a new midsize sedan at an affordable price you deserve? Let us help you.
Our team here at Braman Honda of Palm Beach created this 2017 Honda Accord vs. 2017 Subaru Legacy comparison for our customers in Wellington, Greenacres, Palm Beach, and other nearby Florida cities to check out.
Capability and Handling: 2017 Accord vs. 2017 Legacy
The 2017 Honda Accord sedan has loads to offer today’s buyers, and it all starts with its two available engine options.
First, you’ve got the inline four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC engine that delivers 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, this option gives you exceptional fuel economy, regardless of whether you pair it with the standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional CVT hardware (continuously variable transmission) with Sport Mode and paddle shifters.
As for the second engine, this is a higher-performance powerplant – a 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine that produces as much as 278 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. No matter which one you choose, you can look forward to incredible performance and handling. That’s just the way that Honda typically does things!
The 2017 Subaru Legacy also offers two different engine options. However, both of their horsepower outputs are significantly inferior compared to the Honda Accord’s. What do we mean? 175 HP on the standard engine and 278 HP on the upgraded engine. Either way, things aren’t looking very good.
Safety: Honda vs. Subaru
Honda is renowned for manufacturing some of the safest vehicles on the market, and the 2017 Accord is no different. It has features to protect your family, like an anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability assist with traction control, electronic brake distribution, a multi-angle rearview camera, brake assist, DRL, and more.
On the other hand, while the 2017 Legacy does offer some nice safety features (including a brake assist, some DRLs, and a traction control function comparable to the above), it just doesn’t quite live up to Honda’s standards for safety.
One last thing – Honda vehicles (such as the Accord) are famous for their longevity, as well as their cost-effective maintenance schedule. We hope that you choose the car that’ll help you save the most money.
