Honda Pilot Safety Features
Can you think of anything that’s more important than your children’s lives? Can you think of anything that’s more important than your spouse’s life? Can you think of anything that’s more important than your life? If those things are so important to you, then your SUV’s safety features are a top priority.
Why? Because, across the globe, almost 1.3 million people will die every year in a car crash—that’s about 3,287 deaths per day (according to the Associate for Safe International Road Travel). Whoa!
That’s exactly the type of thing that Honda engineers strive to prevent with the Pilot’s multitude of high-tech safety features. Please read this 2017 Honda Pilot safety features review to learn more.
2017 Honda Pilot: Main Safety Features
We’ll start by going over three of the Pilot’s main safety features: its Forward Collision Warning system, Lane Departure Warning system, and Multi-Angle Rearview Camera. Contact us for more details.
Forward Collision Warning: Driving in rush-hour traffic can be a struggle for anyone, and unfortunately, fender benders are an incredibly common form of accident. With the Forward Collision Warning, you don’t need to worry quite as much about accidentally rear ending the vehicle that’s in front of you.
Lane Departure Warning: Additionally, the Pilot’s Lane Departure Warning (LDW) can make you more aware of what’s going on while you’re on the highway. It’ll alert you if you start to drift out of your lane without a turn signal. However, even with this LDW function, it’s still extremely important to check the blind spots.
Multi-Angle Rearview Camera: Ah, parking: the final frontier. Finally, the bane of your existence has just gotten a bit easier. Now, you can see exactly what’s going on behind you while you’re in reverse.
2017 Honda Pilot: Other Safety Features
We don’t want to minimize the importance of the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™). Let’s say that the Forward Collision Warning goes off, but you’re not able to respond (for one reason or another). The CMBS™ will actually automatically engage the brakes to help mitigate the collision’s consequences.
Yet, there’s even more to the Honda Sensing® suite of safety tech: Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, etc. These all help to promote in-cabin safety.
Safety Awards for the Honda Pilot
Perhaps that’s why the Honda Pilot was designated a 2017 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) (with available Honda Sensing® and projector-beam halogen headlights). Or, you could go with the LED headlights, instead, which make it a 2017 Top Safety Pick+. That’s impeccable!
