Guide to the South Florida Fair
The 2016 South Florida Fair will take place from January 15 to 31 at the fairgrounds, and it promises to be the best one yet. With amazing events for the whole family throughout the fair, you’re sure to find something for everyone to enjoy. This year’s fair has four main areas: the fair, the Expo Center, Yesteryear Village, and the Kubota Agriplex, each with their own special offerings.
Most of the action will take place at the fair portion of the South Florida Fair, including parades, activities, and magic shows. Designed for your entertainment from your favorite performers both local and from far away, the fair offers something fun for everyone.
Musical offerings include performances by Vocal Trash, Big Medicine Band, and Ron Davis. And for some serious fun, don’t miss the Hitchiti Dancers or Scott’s Strolling Tiki Magic Show.
There are so many great things to see that you’ll have to check out the whole schedule to see all of the offerings.
The Expo Center is where you’ll find all of the fun things to buy and collect. That’s where the Buckler’s Craft Show and the West Palm Beach Antiques & Collectibles Show will be held. There will also be a Science Fair and a Florida Gun & Knife show, where you’ll be able to sell, trade, or display your firearms, knives, and more. You can also take a Florida weapons course, which will be taught two times per day.
Yesteryear Village has been home to some of the creepiest haunted trails ever. The area was home to Spookyville in Yesteryear Village in October of last year, where children 12 and under and their families could trick-or-treat, play games, ride kiddie rides, and participate in contests.
But what events will Yesteryear Village hold during the South Florida Fair? You’ll have to wait and see!
Those visiting the fair with more traditional things in mind should check out the Kubota Agriplex. There you’ll find horse demonstrations, dairy goat shows, rabbit shows, and a Jackpot Buckle Series. A trail exchange with judged obstacles, a horse pleasure show, dog demos, and even a youth pet costume contest are all part of the fun.
For a little more Western experience, check out the Mutton Bustin’ where you’ll see kids riding sheep. There will also be a Markey Animal Auction and a regional 4-H Poultry BBQ contest.
If you’re a farming kind of family or a happy spectator enjoying agricultural animals and the way humans love them, check out the full list of events on the South Florida Fair website.
